At Saddleback College, NextUp and Guardian Scholars come together as our Foster Scholars community, supporting current or former foster youth students at every stage, from prospective student through applying, enrolling, completing classes, and reaching their educational goals.

NextUp provides financial resources alongside academic and personal support for students who were in foster care, in any state, for at least one day on or after their 13th birthday, and who are no older than 26 years of age at the start of the academic year in which they first enroll in the program.
Guardian Scholars
Guardian Scholars offers current and former foster youth of any age a community built on connection, academic counseling, and case management.
