A representative with the COPE Health Scholars program will be holding a tabling on multiple days this semester to answer questions and provide more information on the COPE Health Scholars opportunity. Unless noted otherwise, the tabling will be held outside the SCI building.
The COPE Health Scholars program is a hands-on clinical experience and workforce development program. We have a variety of students in our program ranging from students who know they want to go into the healthcare field, to those who are exploring their career options, and even career changers.
The program gives everyone the opportunity to work side-by-side with the hospital staff in caring for patients. In the program, scholars would be able to rotate through a variety of clinical and administrative departments based on their preferences and assist with patient care tasks such as repositioning, bathing, and feeding patients while helping to improve the patient experience.
Providence Mission Hospital's program is unique in that it offers over 15 departments and growing for scholars to experience both clinical and administrative health care first hand, and is directly partnered with the Patient Experience Department to allow scholars to engage directly with strategic patient satisfaction initiatives, and offers both a Caregiver Shadowing Program and Physician Shadowing Program for scholars to explore various career paths, network, and get questions answered by experts in the field.
