Whether or not you participate in the Honors Program, honor societies may enrich your experience at Saddleback, provide you with leadership opportunities, bring you into a network of excellent students, increase your opportunities for scholarships, and assist in your transfer.
As of Spring 2023, three campus-wide honor societies are recognized by Saddleback College:
- Alpha Gamma Sigma, the California community college honor society, and
- Phi Theta Kappa, the international honor society for two-year colleges.
- The National Society of Leadership and Success, sponsored by the Student Development Office
NOTE: Alpha Gamma Sigma and Phi Theta Kappa are local chapters of larger organizations formed to recognize and reward academic excellence. It is unfortunately true that for-profit companies sometimes pose as honor societies. We recommend that you contact Jennifer McConkey or Ryan Hitch, advisors for the Saddleback College Honor Societies before paying dues to any "honor society" other than these.
