Saddleback College promises to pay for the first two years of college for eligible full-time students or up to three years for eligible part-time students. Registration fees, support for book costs, health fee, and student involvement fees are included!

Full-Time Promise Program

To be eligible for the Full-Time Saddleback College Promise Program, student must:

  • Be first-time college students; this program is for students who have never attended college (Students who have taken college classes before high school graduation are still eligible for the Promise Program including Dual/Concurrent enrolled students and Special Admit students)
  • Be California residents or be eligible by AB 540/Dream Act status
  • Be willing to attend Saddleback College full-time

For two consecutive years (not including summers), Full-Time Promise Program students will receive: 

  • Coverage for all enrollment fees, including: registration fees, health fee, and student activity fees for four consecutive semesters
  • Up to $300 in required textbooks each fall and spring
  • Chromebook through the Learn to Earn program
  • Success Coach support

Eligible students who complete the following steps before May 1 will receive first consideration for acceptance into the FT Promise Program. Acceptance is awarded on a first-come, first-served basis and as space in the program allows:

  • Apply to Saddleback College or have an active application on file. Saddleback must be selected as the "College of Record"
  • Confirm Resident Status as a California resident or be eligible by AB 540/Dream Act status
  • Submit a financial aid application for the upcoming school year academic year
    • For US Citizens and Permanent Residents: Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) (school code: 008918)
    • For Undocumented Students: California Dream Act and have it received by Saddleback College (school code: 008918)
    • The Full-Time Promise Program does not require student to qualify for financial aid, however, it is required to submit one of the above financial aid applications.

To be fully accepted into the Full-Time Saddleback College Promise Program, students must also:

  • Enroll full-time each semester including: 
    • Math and/or English during the first semester and both completed by the end of your first year

Part-Time Promise Program

To be eligible for the Part-Time Saddleback College Promise Program, student must:

  • Submit a financial aid application for the upcoming school year academic year
    • For US Citizens and Permanent Residents: Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) (school code: 008918)
    • For Undocumented Students: California Dream Act and have it received by Saddleback College (school code: 008918)
  • Be California residents or be eligible by AB 540/Dream Act status

For three consecutive years, including summers, Part-Time Promise Program students will receive: 

  • Coverage for all enrollment fees, including: registration fees, health fee, and student activity fees for up to three academic years
  • Up to $200 in required textbooks each fall and spring, up to $100 in summer
  • Chromebook through the Learn to Earn program
  • Success Coach support

To be fully accepted to the Part-Time Promise Program, students must:

  • Qualify for the California College Promise Grant (CCPG) Fee Waiver 
  • Enroll in 6 to 11.5 units during fall and spring
  • Summer enrollment is not required, but if students choose to enroll, they must register for at least 3 units 
  • If required for a student’s program – completion of math and/or English within first year of part-time program participation
