Description
The Surgical Technology Program at Saddleback College offers a comprehensive curriculum that prepares graduates to take the national certification examination administered by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA). The program equips students with the knowledge, technical skills, and professional behaviors necessary to become competent entry-level surgical technologists capable of assisting in surgical procedures in various healthcare environments, including hospitals, outpatient surgery centers, and specialty clinics. Through a combination of classroom instruction, laboratory practice, and clinical experiences, students learn to maintain a sterile field, handle surgical instruments, and support surgeons and operating room teams in delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care.
