Biography
Paul Polloczek is a full-time tenured professor at Saddleback College and member of the English and Humanities/Philosophy departments in Saddleback College’s School of Humanities and Social Sciences. He served as chair of the Humanities/Philosophy department. He holds a Ph.D. in English and Comparative Literature (summa cum laude) and master’s degrees in English and Latin literature. He is the recipient of a fellowship from the Alexander-von-Humboldt Foundation and a nationally and internationally published author of two books and eight journal articles in literary criticism (Cambridge University Press, Johns Hopkins University Press, University of Arizona Press, Texas Tech Press, Suhrkamp, Wilhelm Fink, Peter Lang, J. B. Metzler, and Taylor & Francis) on Donald Barthelme, Jeremy Bentham, Joseph Conrad, Charles Dickens, John Dryden, William Faulkner, William Gaddis, James Joyce, John Keats, Petrarch, Thomas Pynchon, Laurence Sterne, and Virgil.
