The Department of Theatre Arts is holding open-call auditions for their fall 2026 productions of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee and Puffs.
Auditions will be held Tuesday, August 25 and Wednesday, August 26, from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The check in table will be located in FA 306 (Green Room). To audition, please prepare a 90-second monologue AND 32 bars of your chosen song (to be considered for the musical). The directors may ask you to sing acapella if you haven't prepared a song. IMPORTANT: You are strongly encouraged to attend an hour-long Audition Workshop, Orientation and Introduction into the Theatre Arts Department on Thursday, August 20 at 5 p.m. in FA 308 (Studio Theatre) lead by the chair of the department, Bill McGuire. Please prioritize attending, as this will review how to sign up for auditions, how to audition, and what to expect for callbacks.
Callbacks will be held by invitation only and will take place on Thursday, August 27 at 6 p.m. for Spelling Bee and Friday, August 28 at 6 p.m. for Puffs.

For Your Audition
Please prepare a 90-second monologue AND 16-32 bars of your chosen song (to be considered for the musical), and come prepared to show us your other talents, too. Feel free to share a short dance solo, an instrument solo, or a hidden talent. If you have nothing else to share, that’s okay, too – but be prepared to chat with our directors after your monologue!

Join us for Fall Dance Concert 2026, including onstage and screendance performances! We are looking for dancers at all levels and experience to join the production. All students cast must also enroll in one of the production/rehearsal courses (DANC 10/11/12/14 or DANC 15/16/17/18). Rehearsals will begin in week three. The Fall Dance Concert will take place in the McKinney Theatre on November 13 and 14, with mandatory tech/dress rehearsals on November 6, 9, and 12.
Auditions may be completed either online or in person. In-person auditions will be held on Thursday, August 27 at 6 p.m. in FA 311. You can audition online by filling out an Audition Form (submissions due August 27).

You can audition online by filling out an Audition Form and including a YouTube link to your video audition in Item #11 of the form. Submissions due Thursday, August 27th.
In-person auditions will be held on Thursday, August 20th, at 3 p.m. in FA 101. Before arriving, please fill out the Audition Form (linked above).
