At Saddleback College, the EOPS/CARE, Foster Scholars (NextUp and Guardian Scholars), CalWORKs, and Monarch Scholar Counseling program are committed to providing over and above student support services such as priority registration, personalized counseling, book vouchers, extended tutoring, grants, and much more. Our goal is to provide our students with the tools and support needed to succeed in academic and/or vocational goals. Further, we strive to promote self-awareness, personal growth, and the power of choice and perseverance through counseling and academic support.

- There are no applications for Monarch Scholar counseling. For more information on this program, please contact us at sceops@saddleback.edu.
- There are no applications for the CalWORKs program. Students must be receiving CalWORKs/TANF cash aid and meet with a CalWORKs staff member to determine eligibility and enroll in services.

Programs
EOPS
The Extended Opportunity Programs and Services (EOPS) program provides comprehensive support services, including counseling, academic assistance, and other resources, to help educationally and economically disadvantaged students succeed in college.
CARE
Cooperative Agencies Resources for Education (CARE) is a supplemental EOPS program serving current EOPS students who are single head-of-household parents currently receiving CalWORKs cash aid for themselves and/or their children.
CalWORKs
The California Work Opportunity and Responsibility to Kids (CalWORKs) program provides support and guidance for student-parents receiving CalWORKs cash aid so they can thrive in their academic journey.
Foster Scholars
NextUp supports current and former foster youth students whose dependency was established or continued by the court on or after their 13th birthday.
Guardian Scholars provides additional support to current and former foster youth students, including priority registration, individual academic counseling, and one-on-one support from Guardian Scholars staff.
Undocumented Students
The Undocumented Student Support page links Dreamers, AB540-eligible, and undocumented students to resources through the Office of Financial Aid and the Office of College Equity, Inclusion, and Access. You'll also see Monarch Scholar Counseling listed there, an EOPS Dept. program offering academic counseling and career guidance to undocumented students.
