Meet the President
Dr. Lonita Cordova has over 22 years of experience spanning the California Community College system, K-12 education, and graduate-level instruction. A veteran of the United States Navy, she served eight years as an Information Systems Technician, gaining a disciplined, data-driven approach to organizational unity and technical command. Her background as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) and scholar-practitioner also deeply informs her human-centered approach to administration.
Dr. Cordova served as the Assistant Superintendent/Vice President of Student Services at San Joaquin Delta College, and has held the roles of Director of Disability Services and Mental Health, Dean of Student Equity and Success, and Center Dean of Instruction at Modesto Junior College and the Merced Community College District. As a practitioner, she has served as a Learning Disability Specialist, Veterans Counselor, adjunct counselor, and adjunct professor of psychology.
Leveraging her military IT background, she has led major initiatives in enterprise software implementations and Student Information System (SIS) modernization, alongside Guided Pathways and statewide advocacy as the past president of the Association for California Community College Administrators (ACCCA).
