Description
The Surgical Technology program is designed to train students to become Surgical Technologists working alongside surgeons in an operating room. Students learn to prepare the patient, operating room, and equipment for surgical procedures. Students learn in the classroom and lab as well as the clinical setting. Students are required to meet current clinical placement requirements. Career options include employment in hospitals or surgical centers. The Surgical Technology Program is seeking accreditation in 2025-2026 by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) upon the recommendation of The Accreditation Review Council on Education in Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting.
