Biography

Dr. Sheila Monfared is part-time faculty in the Computer Information Management department at Saddleback College, where she teaches CompTIA Security+ and co-teaches Certified Ethical Hacking (CEH), and has led hands-on workshops on Social Engineering and human-factor attack vectors within the college's cybersecurity program. She holds a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology (Cognitive Neuroscience) from Florida State University and is CompTIA Security+ and CDFE (Certified Digital Forensics Examiner) credentialed. Dr. Monfared serves on the Advisory Board of Saddleback's Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense (CAE-CD), supporting the Center's NSA-funded cybersecurity workforce initiative (NCAE-C) and validating virtual lab infrastructure (Kali Linux, Windows Server, Domain Controller environments) for hands-on coursework. She is the founder and system architect of EricSyn™, a patent-pending human-AI system that uses real-time biometric data to detect and interrupt suboptimal decision-making under pressure, extending the same cognitive-security principles she teaches into a deployed AI architecture.
