Saddleback’s Online Tutoring Center recently earned Online Tutoring Program certification from the Association of Colleges for Tutoring and Learning (ACTLA).
The certification is a significant accomplishment and required satisfaction of multiple prerequisites, including the meeting of requirements to be a College Reading and Learning Association Level 1 program. Saddleback’s tutor training, data collection, and use of a real-time, synchronous interactive online platform were also among the factors leading to the ACTLA certification.
ACTLA certification provides Saddleback’s Online Tutoring program, led by Acting Director of Learning Assistance Jennifer McConkey, with benefits including recognition as a model for other online tutoring programs, support for accreditation review, and endorsement from the Council for Learning Assistance and Developmental Education Association.
