National Transfer Student Week is an annual event that takes place the third week of October to celebrate transfer students and those who support them through their academic journey. 

During the week of October 20 through 24, the Transfer Center will be highlighting key transfer resources and activities that support students preparing to transfer to 4-year universities. Please see below for a schedule of events and activities.

Did you know…

Of the 116 California Community Colleges, Saddleback College ranks 10th in transfers to the University of California and 20th in transfers to the California State University. 

Of the nine community colleges in Orange County, Saddleback ranks first in transfers to UC Santa Barbara, UC Santa Cruz, San Diego State University, Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, USC and ASU, and ranks second to UC Berkeley, UCLA and UC San Diego.

Monday, October 20

  • Transfer Center Open House - Start celebrating National Transfer Student week by visiting the Transfer Center to learn about resources and workshops available, connect with a counselor, pick up a #NationalTransferStudentWeek treat (while supplies last)! Stop by the Transfer Center in GW 287 from 2 to 4 p.m.
  • UC Personal Insight Question Workshop - Applying to UC for Fall 2026? Attend a UC PIQ Workshop on Monday, October 20 from 4 to 5:30 p.m. in GW 271 to get helpful tips on the Personal Insight Questions section of the UC Application. Click here to register for the UC PIQ Workshop!

Tuesday, October 21

  • Transfer Tuesdays! - Calling all faculty, classified professionals, and administrators: we’d love to see you represent your alma mater! Please consider wearing your alumni gear today! Showing students where you attended college can help students explore their transfer options.
  • San Diego State University Virtual Admission Workshop – A representative from SDSU will be hosting a Transfer Admission workshop on Tuesday, October 21 from 2:15 to 3:15 p.m. via Zoom. Contact the Transfer Center to sign up
  • Cal State University Application Workshop - Applying to a Cal State for Fall 2026? Attend a CSU Application Workshop on Tuesday, October 21 from 4 to 5:30 p.m. in GW 271 to review the application and important dates and deadlines. Click here to register for the CSU Application Workshop.

Wednesday, October 22

  • Teaching Information Seminar - Are you interested in becoming a K-12 teacher in California? Attend the Teaching Information Seminar to learn about the CSET and CBEST, how to prepare for your teaching credential, and what you can do at Saddleback before you transfer. Thursday, October 23

  • Transfer Act of Kindness - Do you know a transfer student that deserves to be recognized? Or a “Transfer Champion”, someone who has gone above and beyond to support transfer students? Send them a shout-out with a Transfer Act of Kindness. Please submit your Shout-Out here and the Transfer Center will send them a message letting them know they were recognized.
  • University of California Application Workshop - Applying to a University of California (UC) for Fall 2026? Attend a UC Application Workshop on Thursday, October 23 from 3 to 4:30 p.m. in GW 271 to review the application and important dates and deadlines. Friday, October 24

  • UCI Campus Tour - Join us for a campus visit to UC Irvine! UCI is hosting an exclusive workshop and campus tour for Saddleback students to learn about transfer requirements, support services, programs and campus life. Reservations are limited.
