Math Placement Levels at Saddleback College

After completing the Guided Self Placement questionnaire (current assessment process), you will receive a math course placement.

  • STAT C1000, Math 2, Math 3A +203, Math 8, Math 11, Math 14, Math 103, Math 124, Support packages*: STAT C1000÷Math 210S, Math 124+224S

    • Equivalent preparation: High School Algebra 1; college-level Intermediate Algebra

    • *Support packages offer 2 units of additional instructional time

  • Math 3A

    • Prerequisite: High School PreCalculus, Math Analysis, Integrated Math 4, Math Ill Enhanced; college-level PreCalculus


Students with AP Scores and/or college transcripts can clear for higher levels.

  • Math 3B

    • Prerequisite: Score of 4 on AP Calculus AB Exam; College Calculus 1

  • Math 3C, Math 24, Math 26

    • Prerequisite: Score of 3 on AP Calculus BC Exam; College Calculus 2


After receiving Initial Math Placement, students can clear higher math course prerequisites if they have completed math at another college/university or earned a passing score on the Advanced Placement (AP) Calculus AB or BC exams.
