Students must meet certain criteria to be eligible for Extended Opportunity Programs and Services. Find the program or service you are interested in and determine if you are qualified.

Students must meet all of these criteria to be eligible:

  • California Resident, or AB540-eligible student, for Saddleback College admissions purposes.
  • Must be enrolled full-time (12 academic units or full-time equivalent).
  • Be 18 years of age or a high school graduate.
  • Has not completed more than 70 units of degree-applicable credit coursework in any combination of postsecondary institutions in the US and/or foreign country.
  • Be eligible for the California College Promise Grant criteria (see step 3 below).
  • Be educationally disadvantaged as determined by EOPS regulations.

A student is eligible if they meet the following criteria:

  • Is a current EOPS student.
  • Is a single head-of-household.
  • Is currently receiving TANF/CalWORKs assistance for themselves and/or child(ren).
  • Has a child under 18 years of age.
  • Is enrolled in at least 12 units upon acceptance into the program.
  • Is at least 18 years of age.

A student is eligible if they meet the following criteria:

  • Is a single or two-parent household receiving cash aid for themselves and their dependent children through CalWORKs/TANF.
  • Has an active Welfare to Work (WtW) Plan through their county.
  • Is enrolled at Saddleback College.

A student is eligible if they meet the following criteria:

  • Enrolled in, or interested in enrolling in, classes at Saddleback College (with current or future goal of enrolling in at least 9 units).
  • Were in foster care, in any state, for at least one day on or after their 13th birthday.
  • Able to provide a "Ward of the Court" letter or other proof of foster care status.
  • No older than 26 years of age at the start of the academic year in which they first enroll in the program.

A student is eligible if they meet the following criteria:

  • Enrolled at Saddleback College.
  • Current or former foster youth, of any age.
  • Able to provide a "Ward of the Court" letter or other proof of foster care status.

A student is eligible if they hold ONE of the following non-citizen immigration statuses, and are enrolled at Saddleback College:

  • Is undocumented, defined broadly as any immigrant who resides in the United States without legal status, including those who entered without inspection, entered legally and overstayed, or are otherwise in immigration limbo.
  • Has or previously had Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) status.
  • Holds Temporary Protected Status (TPS), or T or U visa status.
